Life is a Verb Pop-Up Camps 2018
LIFE IS A VERB CAMP IS GOING ON THE ROAD!
A lot of Campers at the annual Life is a Verb Camp say it is “Camp 365” because the connections, support, and fun continue all year round.
In 2018, we’re going to take that concept a step further and host several Life is a Verb Pop-Up Camps across the United States. Below you’ll find information about Pop-Up Camps scheduled for 2018 thus far. Each will center around the theme of Mapping Loss and Transitions. More will be added and opened for registration as they are finalized. Join the Camp tribe! Spaces are limited to 20-25 people in each location.
April 27-28 Hastings, Nebraska - Author Patti Digh with Artists Pat Wiederspan Jones and Carol Fettin
“Mapping Loss and Transitions: Using Text, Textiles, and Paper to Make an Art Quilt”
Loss and transition are inevitable in our lives, but we often have limited ways to process and navigate those changes. We will explore text and textiles as a way to honor what was, live what is, and love what will be, even in the face of great loss and change.
In this 2-day workshop (10-4pm on April 27-28), you will be led through writing prompts by Patti Digh, author of The Geography of Loss, and use that writing and other materials to create a small paper art quilt by the end of our time together. If you know of a loss or transition you’d like to focus on during the workshop, bring small mementos or talismans that represent that transition to you, for incorporation into your mixed media art quilt.
Our Hastings Life is a Verb Pop-Up Camp will be held at The Lark in downtown Hastings, Nebraska.
Each 2-day workshop costs $297 for tuition and all materials. Participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging; we will provide some local lodging options in each location after you register. And, you’ll earn badges for participating, just like at the annual Life is a Verb Camp!
